Description (according to IHSP, 2003) :

 

Dwarf, 1-stemmed or sparingly branched, to 2 cm tall from a tuberous rootstock, roots fusiform.

 

Branches green at first becoming grey, to 15 mm in diameter.

 

Leaves 1 – 2.4 x 0.5 – 1.2 cm, spreading, soft, obovate to rarely orbicular, grey-green, mottled with purple spots or without spots, upper face concave to channeled, lower face convex, often purplish, base cuneate, apex obtuse to rounded.

 

Inflorescence to 30 cm with up to 3 monochasia each with 1 – 3 flowers, pedicels 8 – 16 mm.

Flowers : Sepals 2 – 3.5 mm, corolla 10 – 12 mm, tube funnel-shaped, yellowish-green, lobes broadly triangular-ovate, to 3.5 mm, reddish purple, tips acute, throat with clubshaped hairs, anthers just reaching the throat.

Distribution : Afrique du Sud (Cap-Nord).

 

 

Description (selon IHSP, 2003) :

 

Plante naine, solitaire ou modérément ramifiée, haute de 2 cm à partir d'une racine tubéreuse, racines fusiformes.

 

Branches d'abord vertes devenant grises, de 15 mm de diamètre.

 

Feuilles 1 – 2,4 x 0,5 – 1,2 cm, écartées, souples, obovales ou rarement orbiculaires, gris-vert, base cunée, apex obtus à arrondi.

 

Inflorescence de 30 cm ayant jusqu'à 3 monochasia portant chacun 1 – 3 fleurs, pédicelles 8 – 16 mm.

 

Fleurs : Sépales de 2 – 3,5 mm, corolle de 10 – 12 mm, tube infundibuliforme, vert jaunâtre, lobes largement triangulaires-ovales, de 3,5 mm, rouge violacé, extrémités aiguës, gorge avec poils en forme de massues, anthères atteignant juste la gorge.
