Type : Collected by Prof. Dr. S. Pignatti in 1974 at Auresina (Italy, prov. Trieste) and cultivated in the experimental garden of the University of Utrecht, no. 1660, 11.7. 1975 (U).

 

Distribution : France (French Alps), north-western Italy, Slovenia.

 

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Differs from P. rupestre :

 

Inflorescence subglobose and erect in bud, with 4 - 7 (-9) branches;

 

Flowers : Filaments densely papillose.

 

Cytology : 2n = 64, 96
