Distribution : Mexico (México), growing on rocks between mosses in semishade, ca 2300 m.

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2300) :

Glabrous perennial herbs with short erect stems.

Leaves alternate, oblong, subacute to acute, acuminate, 15 - 35 x 5 - 9 mm.

Flowering branches axillary, 5 - 15 cm.

Inflorescences cymes with 1 - 2 branches, bracts similar to the leaves on flowering branches.

Flowers 5-merous, subsessile, sepals basally slightly connate, unequal in width, oblanceolate, 5 - 7 x 1.5 - 3 mm, somewhat ascending, petals basally free, imbricate in bud, lanceolate-cymbiform, acute, canaliculate, yellow, 5 - 7 x 2.3 - 3 mm, filaments yellowish, anthers yellow, nectar scales subquadrate.

Cytology : 2n = 64
