Etym : Referring to the shape of the rosettes.

 

Type : España, Islas Canarias, La Palma, cercanías de Tijarafe, barran­co de Los Gomeros, 680 m., 18-02-2011, O. Arango.

 

Holotype : TFC 53232 (ex cult.).

Description :

 

Perennial branched subshrub, habit and size intermediate between pa­rents, 35-40 cm tall.

 

Stems 0,6-1,2 cm in diameter, bark brown, slightly rugous, with abundant aerial roots.

 

Rosettes globose, moderately dense, 12-15 cm in diameter.

 

Leaves obovate-spathulate, 9-11 x 3-4 cm and 3-4 mm thick, lamina generally conca­ve, light green, finely glandular-pubescent, viscide, margin with long and short hairs intermixed.

 

Inflorescence corymbiform, dense, 15-18 x 20-22 cm, with central stem and peduncles glandular-pubescent, pedicels glandular-pubescent.

 

Flowers 8-merous, corolla flat, 1,8 - 2,0 cm in diameter, calyx glandular-pubescent, petals oblong-lanceolate, abaxial side glabrate, golden yellow, filaments glabrate, anthers ovoid, dark yellow, carpels pale yellow, styles glabrous, ovaries adaxially pubescent, nec­taries rectangular, pale yellow, upper edge rounded.
