Etym: Named for its type locality in the Barranco de Isora, El Hierro.

Description :

Similar to A. arboreum var. holochrysum but less branched.

Stem 5 cm thick with adventitious roots, branches simple, long, flexuous.

Rosettes less flat than in A. arboreum var. holochrysum, 15 - 25 cm in diameter.

Leaves 8 - 13 x 4 - 5 cm, oblanceolate to obovate, acuminate, glaucous green, margins reddish, with conical cilia with a thick base.

Inflorescence ovoid to conical, 18 - 25 x 15 - 18 cm, peduncle puberulent, pedicels pubescent.

Flowers  9-10-merous, calyx puberulent, sepals 2.5 x 1.8 mm, with reddish margins, petals 8 x 2.2 mm, pale yellow, slightly dentate in upper part, more or less glabrous.

Flowering time : March.

Distribution : Canary Islands : El Hierro.
