HT: Praeger, Semperviva of the Canary Islands area, Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy 38 Sect.B (1): 466, t.9, fig. 2. (24 Sep) 1929. Autotype (Art. 9.1). The only included element.

Obs: Cited as "Hortus Acclimatationis 'Llano de la Piedra', Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Gran Canaria (ex-hort.)", with isotype at "Jardín Canario 'Viera y Clavijo', Tafira, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. These were live plants and therefore not eligible as types. Of the two cited illustrations, the one from Burchard was included in error, not being of this parentage, leaving only one other eligible element in the protologue. In Bañares (Vieraea 43: 194, 2015), Art. 40.4 is cited as a reason for a superfluous reneotypification, but that rule applies only to new taxa, while Aeonium ×lidii Sunding & G.Kunkel was already validly published.
