Etym: A compound adjective meaning loose-flowered, from the Latin laxus, loose, and flos, flower.

Description :

Small plant, intermediate between the parents, branched.

Stem sturdy, 10 - 13 mm thick, rugose.

Rosettes 5 - 8 cm in diameter.

Leaves 3.5 - 6 x 2 - 3 cm, spatulate, acuminate, glabrous, small rosettes occasionally puberulous, green sometimes reddish especially at margins; margins sinuous, hyaline and pubescent as in G. diplocycla as well as with the characteristic cilia of A. decorum.

Inflorescence 13 - 15 cm high, resembling Greenovia but longer and more lax, pubescent, 12 - 14 flowering branches as in G. diplocycla but larger (9 - 13 cm), pendulous, with 18 - 20 flowers with short pedicels as in A. decorum.

Flowers 11-13-merous, 1.2 - 1.5 cm in diameter, calyx green, glandular-pubescent, sepals 1.3 - 1.6 mm, petals 7 - 8 x 2 mm, pubescent, whitish cream with a yellowish-green tint.

Distribution : Canary Islands : La Gomera.
