Etym: A Latin adjective, occidentalis, western.

Description :

Resembling Aeonium sedifolium but more robust.

Rosettes to 4 cm across

Branches 3 - 5 mm thick.

Leaves oblanceolate, 2 - 3 x 1 cm, 4 - 5 mm thick, densely glandular pubescent, glutinous, with reddish spots.

Inflorescence lax, glandular pubescent, subcorymbose.

Flowers 45, 7 - 8-merous, calyx glandular pubescent, petals yellowish white.

The hybrid was first reported as a garden hybrid by Santos.
