Etym: A Latin adjective, prolifer, offsetting.

Description :

Monocarpic plant with the habit of A. hierrense, 60 cm tall when in flower.

Stem thick, to 3 cm in diameter, leaf scars narrowly elipsoid, 7 - 10 x 1 - 2.5 mm.

Rosettes up to 20 cm in diameter.

Leaves  7 - 9 x 3 - 4 cm, 3 - 4 mm thick in the middle, obovate, apiculate, glaucous and often reddish tinged, puberulent (similar to A. davidbramwellii but hairs less abundant and shorter), margins with thick erect cilia mixed with pubescence.

Inflorescence 25 - 35 cm long and broad, pubescent, peduncle 4 - 17 cm long, pedicels pubescent, 1.5 - 4 cm long.

Flowers ca. 1.7 cm in diameter, 7-8-merous, calyx pubescent, sepals 2.3 - 3.2 x 1.5 - 2 mm, petals 8 - 10 x 2.2 - 2.5 mm, white, tinged reddish in the centre, puberulent outside.
