Distribution : Portugal, southern Italy, Balkans, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Saudi Arabia, north-western Africa.

 

 

Description (according to IHSP 2003) :

 

Usually stout plants.

 

Basal leaves orbicular, peltate, 3 - 7 cm in diameter, margin crenate, cauline leaves ovate-deltoid to linear.

 

Inflorescences simple or sometimes branched racemes 30 - 80 cm, pedicels 1 - 2 mm.

 

Flowers usually erect, corolla tubular, 9 - 14 mm, greenish-yellow, petals narrowly lanceolate, acute, ± as long as the tube.

 

For priority reasons, the valid name for this taxon may be U. luteus.
