Distribution: Mexico (Zacatecas, Jalisco, Guanajuato).
Description (according to IHSP, 2003):
Herbs; roots thickened.
Stems short-lived, with sorne short erect dark blue-greenish branches, base short, woody-persistent.
Leaves ascending, tapering from the tip downwards and thus clavate, terete, obtuse, finely
papillose, 5 - 15 (-25) mm, pale green, numerous and densely arranged.
Inflorescences rather lax spikes or on vigorous plants thyrses, 4 - 10 cm.
Flowers : Sepals thickish, obtuse, 2.5 - 6 x 1 - 2.5 mm; petals somewhat longer or as long as the sepals, white, dry ± rose-coloured, erect, obtuse.
Cytology : n = 15.
