Description (according to IHSP, 2003) :
Glabrous herbs with woody tuberous short rhizomes to 2 cm long, with prostrate slender stems to 22 cm, sometimes rooting near the base.
Leaves opposite or alternate, obovate to oblong-obovate or elliptic to spatulate, 1 - 2 cm, obtuse, margins crenate-serrate, 2 - 3 mm petiolate.
Flowering branches glabrous, 10 - 22 cm, branched in the upper part.
Inflorescences terminal, glabrous, leafy, cymes to 1 cm in diameter, with 3 - 4 cincinni.
Flowers 4- to 7-merous, sessile, sepals lanceolate to subulate, obtuse, ± 4 x 0.5 - 0.7 mm, petals lanceolate, acute, ± 8 mm, yellow, anthers small, rounded, yellow.
Status and position within subgenus Aizoon are uncertain.
