Distribution : Himalaya (Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, India [Assam]), Tibet, Myanmar, south-western China. 

Description (according to H. Ohba in IHSP, 2003) :

Hermaphrodite, 5 - 25 cm taIl, rhizomes slender, creeping, to 20 cm, 2 - 5 mm in diameter, sparsely branched with 1.5 - 3 mm long scaly leaves.

Flowering stems 2 - 4, glabrous, yellowish-green.

Leaves aggregated, widely spreading, sessile, yellowish-green, ovate to oblong-obovate, 1.5 - 8 x 0.2 - 2.3 cm, glabrous, tip obtuse to round, base long attenuate, densely papillate along the margins, margin in upper 1/2 ± imparilobulate to sinuolate, lobes 3 - 7, triangular to narrowly triangular, 2 - 12 x 0.8 - 6 mm, obliquely obtuse to round.

Inflorescences 30- to 40-flowered, pedicels 4 - 10 mm, glabrous.

Flowers 8 - 18 mm in diameter, calyx 1.7 - 2.5 (- 3.5) mm, glabrous, sepals ovate to triangular-ovate, 1.5 - 2.5 mm, tips and margins often reddish, petals narrowly oblong-lanceolate, spreading, 6 - 7.5 x 1.1 - 1.3mm, inner side white, outside pale greenish, often tinged with red, margin entire to somewhat erose, stamens whitish, 5 - 6.5 mm, anthers deep red-purple.

Flowering time : Late July to September.
