Angela

In 1999 Corrado Coccorese has found this spontaneous hybrid among seeds of Crassula alstonii.

It is not easy to identify the second parent; due to the presence of scattered hairs on the surface of the whole plant, it may be C. hirtipes. C. 'Angela' is smaller than C. alstonii, the rosette is only up to 3 cm across ; with age the plant is growing a stem and becomes ungainly, the lower leaves are falling off and the naked stem is reminding of C. hirtipes. The flowers are almost identical to those of C. alstonii, only more hairy, and the peduncle has 3 - 4 pairs of bracts, more visible than in the parent species. When stressed, the plant displays a very nice ruby red colour.

L'altro parente non è facile identificarlo, probabilmente è una specie irsuta tipo C. hirtipes, ma non ne sono per niente sicuro. Le dimensioni sono più piccole dell'alstonii, la rosetta non è più larga di 3 cm, e col tempo diventa alta e sgraziata poiché e le foglie vecchie cadono lasciando il fusto legnoso in bella vista, per questo mi ricorda la hirtipes.

I fiori sono la copia di quelli dell'alstonii, soltanto hanno peli più radi e spessi.
Sotto stress diventa di un bel rosso intenso, molto bella.
