Section Rosularia

 

Distribution : South-eastern Turkey (inland), 1200 - 2300 m.

 

 

Description (according to U. Eggli in IHSP, 2003 ):

 

Caudex none or well-developed, to 1 cm in diameter.

 

Rosettes ± flattish or semiglobular, 0.5 - 3 cm in diameter, solitary or with a few subsessile offsets.

 

Leaves oblong- to linear-spatulate with rounded or truncate apex, 8 - 18 mm, broadest near apex or strap-shaped, dull or fresh green, lamina glabrous or glandular-hairy, margins with long whitish-transparent comb-like cilae to 0.7 mm.

 

Inflorescences few-flowered reduced lateral thyrses, 4 - 8 cm.

 

Flowers 5-merous, 7 - 9 mm, tubular, outer parts glandular-hairy, petals united for 2/5 – 3/4 , pale pink with mucronate reflexed apex.

Cytology : 2n = 18

 

A taxon with unclear affinities, but clearly belonging to the R. sempervivum aggregate.
