Type : Mexico, Anonymous, s.n.

Etymology : for the rose-coloured sepals.

 

Distribution : Mexico (Hidalgo, Puebla, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas); usually epiphytic in cloud forests.


First Description by Lindley in Edwards's Botanical Register 28: t. 22. 1842 :
