Description :

Plants glabrous, caespitose.

Roots fibrous.

Stem up to 3 cm long.

Rosette 10 - 13 cm in diameter.

Leaves obovate, mucronate, 4.5 - 5 x 2.7 - 4 cm, ca 3 mm thick in the middle, concave, slighty glaucous, margin entire, hyaline.

Flowering stems 1 - 2, decumbent to pendant, 18 - 30 cm long, bracts obovate, mucronate, 2 - 3 x 1 - 1.5 cm, margin hyaline.

Inflorescences to 30 cm long, paniculate with 3 - 5 branches, bracteoles 1 - 1.5 x 0.5 - 1 cm, pedicels 2.5 - 4 cm long.

Flowers : Sepals unequal, spreading or ascending, triangular-lanceolate, 5 - 13 x 2 - 3 mm, corolla campanulate, pentagonal, 12 - 15 mm long, 7 - 8 mm wide at the base, yellow with reddish hues at the base, petals united close to the base, elliptical-oblong, apiculate, filaments yellowish white.

 

Differs from the type by being larger in all parts.
