Distribution : Central Asia (Pamir and Alai regions : Zarafshan. Turkestan and Hyssar Ranges, hills of south Tadzhikistan, Tien Shan Mts. [Fergana Range]), stony mountain slopes, 900 - 1100 m.

Description (according to H. 't Hart & V. V. Byalt in IHSP, 2003) :

Rhizome short with many subfascicular slender branched roots, to 2 mm diameter.

Leaves to 2 cm.

Inflorescences : Flowering brnches many, arcuate, 20 - 30 cm, inflorescences umbellate-paniculate, bracts 2 - 3.5 cm.

Flowers 6-merous, subsessile, sepals obtuse, 1.4 - 2.5 mm; corolla funnel-shaped, 7 - 10 mm, petals 4 - 5 mm, lanceolate, acute, red, fruit lanceolate in outline, 7.5 - 10.2 mm.

Flowering time : April to May.
