Distribution : China (Anhui, Zheijiang, Jiangxi).

 

 

Description (by H.Ohba in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Rootstock not massive, with slender long roots.

 

Flowering stems 20 - 35 cm, erect with creeping base, moderately papillate.

 

Leaves altemate, sessile, elliptic to obovate or (narrowly) rhombic-elliptic, 4.6 - 8.5 x 0.8 - 2 (-3.7) cm, tip acute, base attenuate, margins entire.

 

Inflorescences terminal, 5 - 10 cm wide, dense, bracteate.

 

Flowers : Sepals narrowly ovate, 2 - 2.5 mm, petals red-purplish, elliptic, 5 - 6 mm, stamens slightly shorter than the petals, anthers red-purple.

 

Flowering time : August to September (?).
