Distribution : Russia (western Siberia: Altai, Sayan)

 

 

Description (by H. Ohba in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Roostock branching.

 

Flowering stems woody, branching in the lower part, perennial, 15 - 40 cm tall, greyish-brown.

 

Leaves alternate, petiolate, oblongovate to ovate, 1.5 - 4 x 1 - 2.5 cm wide, green, glabrous, tip obtuse or rounded, base truncate to shallowly cordate, margins dentate with large obtuse unequal teeth.

 

Inflorescences terminal, globose, 5 - 7 cm broad.

 

Flowers pedicellate, sepals triangular, 1.5 - 2 mm, petals linear-Ianceolate, white or pinkish, 4.5 - 6 mm, ascending.

Flowering time : June to August.

Cytology : 2n = 22

A very distinctive deciduous miniature shrublet, unlike any other Hylotelephium-species.
