Distribution : SA : NW Swaziland; peaty rock surfaces and crevices.

Description by R.H. Compton in Journal South African Botany 41: 47. 1975 :

Perennial, glabrous throughout.

Rhizome horizontal, shallow, elongated, ca 5 mm diam., prolonged at apex into erect aerial shoot ca 25 cm high, occasionally with lateral shoots also. Shoot bears up to 5 pairs of imbricating somewhat succulent slightly glaucous leaves on its basal half, above which it bears one or two remote pairs of reduced leaves separated by long internodes and ends in a dichasio-corymbose inflorescence ca 5 cm diam.

Lower leaves sessile, narrowing gradually to base, widest above middle, obtuse, up to 4 cm long x 2 cm wide with entire subcoriaceous margin.

Leaves on inflorescence axis similar, up to 1,5 cm longxl cm wide. Calyx c 5 mm long, lobes acute.

Corolla tube inflated, ca 1 cm long, lobes spreading, ca 6 mm long, pointed, clear light or deep yellow. 

Flowering time May - September.

Distribution : Afrique du Sud (Province du Nord), nord-ouest du Swaziland ; poches d'humus peu profondes sur roche granitique.

Description (par B. Descoings dans IHSP, 2003) :

Plante vivace grisâtre atteignant 25 cm de haut, complètement glabre, produisant racines et rameaux à partir de la base.

Rhizome horizontal, superficiel, allongé.

Tiges de section ronde, molles, dressées à décombantes.

Feuilles peu nombreuses, sessiles, charnues, plates, rondes ou ovales à oblancéolées, presque coriaces, 1,5 - 4,5 x 0,8 - 2,2 cm, vert pâle à marron, habituellement pruineuses, extrémité obtuse à arrondie, base atténuée-cunée et amplexicaule, marges entières.

Inflorescence en thyrse arrondi ou à tête plate, peu fleurie, jusqu'à 5 cm de large.

Fleurs dressées, calice 4 - 7 mm, sépales linéaires-lancéolés, aigus, corolle jaune à orange, tube allongé-ampullacé, 10 - 12 mm, pétales lancéolés, aigus, écartés, 5 - 7 x 2 - 3 mm.
