Distribution : Madagascar (without precise locality, perhaps northern Madagascar).
Description (according to IHSP, 2003) :
Perennials (?), entirely glabrous.
Stems terete, simple, erect.
Leaves petiolate, imparipinnate, very fleshy, thick, purple-edged, petiole 2 - 2.5 cm, broadly amplexicaul, rachis thickened, canaliculate; leaflets in 1 - 3 pairs, sessile, oblong to lanceolate, 2.2 - 2.7 x 0.8 - 1 cm, tips cuneate, obtuse, base asymmetricaIly rounded, margins strongly and irregularly crenate with thick obtuse teeth, terminal leaflet eIliptic, ± 3 x 2 cm.
Inflorescences globose many-flowered panicles, 30 - 35 cm, pedicels terete, 5 - 10 mm.
Flowers in aIl directions, calyx pale green lined with purple, tube cylindrical, 7 - 7.5 mm, lobes deltoid, acuminate, 2.5 - 3 x 3 - 4 mm, corolla pink, slightly curved, often strongly recurved when dry, tube cylindrical, 22 - 25 mm, petals ovate, ± long-acuminate, recurved, 5 - 6 x ± 4 mm, stamens inserted near the base of the corolla tube, slightly exserted.
