Description :

Annual or biennial few-leaved glabrous succulent, 1.2 - 2 m tall when in flower.

Stem 1.5 - 2 cm wide at base, mostly unbranched, surface with fine cracks, leaf scars conspicuous.

Leaves simple or trilobate, oppposite-decussate, petiolate, mostly uniformely bluish green when young to yellowish green when older, somewhat velvety-smooth, becoming caducous as plants enter flowering stage, petiole 10 - 20 mm, mostly half-clasping the stem, lamina   6 - 8 (-8.5) x 3.5 - 4 cm, ovate to obovate, upper side concave, margins irregularly serrate, rarely entire, apex obtuse.

Inflorescence a few- to many-flowered corymb consisting of several cymes, 50 - 150 cm tall, pedicels 10 - 20 mm.

Flowers 22 - 25 mm long, sepals basally fused  for 1 - 1.5 mm, (2-)5 -7 x (1.5-)2.5 - 3 mm, triangular- lanceolate, acute, corolla considerably enlarged lower down, often twisted apically, tube yellowish green, petals 5 - 7 x 3 - 5 mm, golden yellow.

 

Close to K. brachyloba.
