Parentage : Monanthes laxiflora x M. pallens var. silensis

Distribution : Canary Islands : Western Tenerife.

Praeger : "In western Teneriffe, where the form of pallens prevailing is var. silensis Praeger, a different form of the hybrid occurs, having the habit of laxiflora but smaller in all its parts - 5 cm high, stem much branched, leaves loosely rosulate, with the grey-green colour of var. silensis, inflorescence as in laxiflora but few-flowered. This form of the hybrid looks much like a small grey laxiflora."

Note :

Whether nothovar. burchardii is accepted or not depends on the acceptance of var. silensis of M. pallens. If var. silensis is placed in the synonymy of M. pallens, M. sventenii nothovar. burchardii becomes a synonym of M. x sventenii i.e. the name is superfluous.
