Distribution : Throughout the range of the species.

 

 

Description (according to 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP 2003) :

 

FIowers with 5 stamens (rarely more or 10) and ovary partly immersed into the receptacle or semi-inferior, sepals basally distinctly connate, petals ± 3,2 mm, anthers small, glo-bular, red or dark red.

 

Cytology: 2n = 20,40, 60.
