Distribution : NE Turkey (mainly NE Anatolia); limestone gravel and rocky igneous slopes and screes, 1600 - 3200 m.

 

Description (according to 't Hart, Bleij & Zonneveld in IHSP, 2003, and  Karaer & Celep, 2010 :


Rosettes 4 - 8 cm in diameter, few stolons.

Leaves ovate-lanceolate to spatulate, 30 - 50 x 9 - 11 mm, when young with a few scattered glandular hairs, glabrous when mature, glaucous green with dark purple tip, margin strongly pectinate- ciliate, cilia ca 1 mm long.

Flowering branches 6 - 8 cm, cauline leaves glandular hairy, 30 - 47 (-52) x 10 - 12 (-15) mm, purple, imbricate.

Inflorescence up to 35 cm tall, 30 - 50 (-60) flowered, with 3 - 5 branches 5 - 10 cm long, bracts linear, up to 15 x 5 mm, green to pale rose, glandular hairy, pedicels 1 - 3 mm long.

Flowers (12-) to 14 - 17-merous, ca 21 - 28 (-35) mm in diameter, sepals lanceolate, acute, 3 - 3.5 x 1.5 mm, tip dark purple, densely glandular, petals linear-lanceolate, 9 - 11 x 1,5 mm, densely glandular, pale yellow or greenish, purplish towards the base, filaments pale lavender, hairy at base, anthers yellow.
