Distribution : NE Turkey (NE Anatolia), 600 - 2000 m.

 

 

Description (according to 't Hart, Bleij & Zonneveld in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Rosettes 1 - 3 cm in diameter, stolons few, short.

 

Leaves oblanceolate to oblong-elliptic, mucronate, green with a bronze cast and purple base, without a strongly marked tip; flowering branches with elliptic-lanceolate to ovate leaves.

 

Inflorescences 3- to 15-flowered.

 

Flowers 11- to 12-merous, ± 16 mm in diameter, sepals ± 2.5 mm, petals pale yellow, ± 8 x 2.5 mm, filaments pale yellow.

 

 

S. minus varies in the diameter of the rosettes and the pubescence of the leaves. The former var. glabrum has recently been described as S. ekimii.
