Sempervivum 'Bambi Kino'

Description :

Rosettes 4.5 to 8 cm in diameter, up to 40 - 44 leaves.

Stolons 3 - 11

Leaves oblanceolate-apiculate, up to 3 x 1 cm, only very slightly pubescent, margins distinctly ciliate; colour changing according to seasons, glaucous green in spring, greyish brown in summer, mat, young leaves wine red, older leaves more greyish green, upper side wine red at the base fading to greyish green near the tip, mucro carmine, lower surface greyish green.

Inflorescences not yet observed.

Note:

Parent plants received from Erwin Geiger, Germany.

S. 'Bambi Kino' is the first hybrid with S. ispartae in the parentage, when adult its leaves are more numerous than those of the parents. Form and colour are more close to S. marmoreum erythraeum Pirin, while the colour of the leaf apex is similar to S. ispartae.

The name commemorates the Cinema Bambi Kino, Paul-Roosen-Strasse 33, Hamburg, where the Beatles stayed during their concerts in Indra Club from August to November 1960.
