Distribution : S Namibia, SA (Northern Cape, Western Cape).

 

 

Description (according to Tölken, 1985) :

 

Perennials with usually only one stem from a swollen base up to 150 mm long usually little branched towards apex and with almost white circular phyllopodia but later with brown peeling bark.

 

Leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, 15 – 40 (-50) x 2 – 4 mm, abruptly cuneate, acute, terete to flat or slightly grooved above, usually glabrous or with a few glandular hairs when young, grey-green to greyish brown and often with brown striations.

 

Inflorescence a thyrse with rarely more than 3 monochasia, each with 2 – 5 flowers, rigid, glandular-pubescent, peduncle (40-) 60 – 100 (-130) mm long, pale brown, pedicels 5 – 12 mm long.

 

Flowers : Calyx 5 -6 mm long, glandular-tomentose to pubescent, brown rarely yellowish brown, sepals triangular-lanceolate, acute, corolla glandular-tomentose to pubescent, pale brown with darker indistinct venation, tube elongate-urceolate, 12 – 14 mm long, with fine hairs inside, particularly where filaments are fused to tube, petals 3 – 4 mm long, recurved towards apex, anthers 1.1 – 1.5 mm long.

Distribution : sud de la Namibie, Afrique du Sud (Cap-Nord, Cap-Occidental).

 

 

Description (selon Tölken, 1985) :

 

Plante vivace avec habituellement seulement une tige à partir d'une base renflée atteignant 150 mm de long, normalement peu ramifiée vers l'apex et avec phyllopodia circulaires presque blancs, plus tard avec écorce marron s'exfoliant.

 

Feuilles linéaires à linéaires-lancéolées, 15 – 40 (-50) x 2 – 4 mm, brusquement cunées, aiguës, cylindriques, plates ou avec un léger sillon dessus, habituellement glabres ou avec peu de poils glandulifères quand elles sont jeunes, gris-vert à marron grisâtre et souvent avec stries marron. 

 

Inflorescence : Un thyrse avec rarement plus de 3 monochasia, chacun portant 2 – 5 fleurs, rigides, à poils glandulifères, pédoncule (40-) 60 – 100 (-130) mm de long, marron pâle, pédicelles 5 – 12 mm de long.

 

Fleurs : Calice 5 -6 mm de long, pubescentes ou à poils glandulifères, marron, rarement marron jaunâtre, sépales triangulaires-lancéolés, aigus, corolle pubescente ou à poils glandulifères, marron pâle avec veines indistinctes plus sombres, tube allongé-urcéolé, 12 – 14 mm de long, avec fins poils à l'intérieur, particulièrement là où les filaments sont soudés au tube, pétales 3 – 4 mm de long, recourbés au niveau de l'apex, anthères 1,1 – 1,5 mm de long.
