Aeonium ×marreroi Arango, Tres nuevas notoespecies de las islas Canarias, Vieraea 45: 278-279-283. (Oct) 2017.

 

Etym: Named for Águedo Marrero Rodríguez, curator of the herbarium LPA at the Jardín Botánico Viera y Clavijo, Gran Canaria.

Description :

Perennial monocaule, monocarpic subshrub, intermediate between parents, 25-30 cm tall.

 

Stem 2,5-3,0 cm in diameter, bark smooth, brown.

 

Rosettes dense, concave or flattish, 30-35 cm in diameter.

 

Leaves obovate-spatulate, bright dark green, glabrate, margins somewhat undulate and with cylindric cilia and alternate glandular hairs.

 

Inflorescence conical, longer than wide, central stem, peduncles and calyx covered with short dense pubescence.

 

Flowers 19-11 merous, corolla golden yellow.

 

Stamens and carpels yellow-green, glabrous. Nectariferous glands quadrate-cuneate, yellowish white, apex emarginate.
