ALBIDO-OPACUS A.Carlström, 1984

Distribution : Greece (Rhodos: Khalki); moist sites on limestone cliffs, 100 - 650 m.

 

 

Description (according to IHSP 2003) :

 

Basal leaves orbicular, peltate, to 2.5 cm in diameter, petiole 7 - 11 cm, margin sinuate-crenate, cauline leaves peltate or obovate, dentate-crenate.

 

Inflorescences branched racemes to 25 cm, pedicels 3 – 4 mm.

 

Flowers erect or pendulous, corolla yellowish-white, sometimes tinged red, to - 6.5 mm, 3 - 4 mm in diameter, obovoid-obconical, petals to 3 - 4 x 1.5 - 1.8 mm, anthers 0,7 mm in diameter.

 

 

A taxon of uncertain status. It is closest to U. parviflorus and U. chloranthus; the latter occurs at the same localities as U. albido-opacus, which is distinguished by the laxer, more diffuse inflorescences, and by the yellowish-white colour of the corolla.
