Distribution : SA (Western Cape, Eastern Cape); growing usually in very low karroid vegetation, often in valleys or depressions, together with or intertwined into other shrublets.
Description (according to Tölken, 1985) :
Plants decumbent, sometimes almost prostrate, usually much branched, often rooting at nodes, with main branches carnose and with peeling bark (rare).
Leaves 5 - 15 x 1 - 2 (-3) mm, abruptly ending in a sharp point, curved upwards,with old leaves remaining attached to stem; sheath 0.5 - 1 (-1.5) mm long.
Inflorescences irregularly branched, with several or rarely only one dichasium, with distinct peduncle having 1 or 2 pairs of bracts without flowers in their axils.
Flowers : Corolla up to 1.5 mm long, usually ridged along petals.
Flowering time : January - March

Distribution : Afrique du Sud (Cap-Occidental, Cap-Oriental) ; poussant habituellement dans une végétation très basse comme celle du Karoo, souvent dans les vallées ou dépressions, parmi d'autres buissons, voire emmêlée à eux.
Description (selon Tölken, 1985) :
Plante décombante, parfois presque prostrée, habituellement très ramifiée, produisant souvent des racines aux nœuds, branches principales charnues et rarement avec écorce pelant.
Feuilles 5 - 15 x 1 - 2 (-3) mm, se finissant brusquement en pointe aiguë, courbées vers le haut, avec anciennes feuilles restant attachées à la tige ; gaine de 0,5 - 1 (-1,5) mm de long.
Inflorescence irrégulièrement ramifiée, avec plusieurs ou rarement un seul dichasium, pédoncule bien apparent ayant 1 ou 2 paires de bractées sans fleurs dans les aisselles.
Fleurs : Corolle atteignant 1,5 mm de long, habituellement avec une arête le long du pétale.
Période de floraison : Janvier - mars.
