Distribution : Central Asia: Pamir and Alai regions (Alai Range), Tien Shan Mts. (Chatkal and Fergana Ranges), dry terraces and stony slopes.

Description (according to H.'t Hart & V.V.Byalt in IHSP, 2003) :

Rhizome simple or branched with fusiform roots or 1 - 3 (-4) tuberous ± terete roots to 15 mm diameter.

Leaves oblong, 8 x 2 mm.

Inflorescences : Flowering branches 1 - 3 (-5), (5-) 10 - 20 cm, inflorescences corymbiform, dense, 1.5 - 3 cm diameter, bracts lanceolate, acute, to 2 mm, pedicels 1 - 5 mm.

Flowers 5- to 6-merous, sepals lanceolate, acute, 2 - 3 mm, corolla campanulately funnel-shaped, 10 - 12 mm long, petals oblong-lanceolate, pale pink, more intensely coloured along the midrib, fruit erect, 10-12 mm.

Flowering time : June to August.
