Distribution : Central Japan.

 

 

Differs from var. sieboldii :

 

Leaves opposite or sometimes in whorls of 3, ovate to broadly ovate, entire or with few low serrations, petiole very short.

 

Inflorescences compound corymb-like, semiglobose.

 

Cytology : 2n = 50 (Nakata 1996)
