x tilophila nothovar. chamorgensis   Heath, 1994

Parentage : Monanthes brachycaulos var. adenopetala x M. laxiflora var. laxiflora

Distribution : Canary Islands : Eastern part of Tenerife.

Description :

Differs from the nothovar. tilophila on Tenerife in being more robust,

branches longer and pendent,

leaves always alternate and scattered and never arranged rosette-like. 

Note :

Whether the nothovar. chamorgensis is accepted or not depends on the acceptance of var. adenopetala of M. brachycaulos. If var. adenopetala is placed in the synonymy of M. brachycaulos, M. x chamorgensis becomes a synonym of M. x tilophila, i.e. the name is superfluous.
