Series Nudae (because of the conspicuous stem, though the inflorescence is different).
Type : Reyes & Brachet 5728, collected 2 km south of Comaltepec, on the road to San Pablo Macuiltianguis, 18 March 2007.
Etymology : Named for Christian Brachet Ize.
Distribution : Mexico (Oaxaca : Sierra de Juárez), only known from type locality; growing in pine-oak forests and preferring high humidity and some shade.

Plant glabrous, caespitose.
Stems to 30 cm tall, 2 cm in diameter.
Rosette loose, 5 – 9 cm in diameter.
Leaves 4 – 5 x 1.5 – 2 cm, 2 mm thick in the middle, spatulate to obovate, mucronate, spreading to recurved, margins entire, glaucous, light green.
Flowering stems 1 – 4, upright or decumbent, 20 – 30 cm tall (inflorescence included), 3 mm in diameter at base, green to slightly reddish above, bracts 1.5 - 3.5 cm long and 0.5 - 1.5 cm wide, spatulate, apex acute, green to yellowish green, pedicels 6.5 – 10 mm long, 1 mm thick, ascending to downcurved, reddish, inflorescence a raceme with about 14 flowers.
Flowers : Sepals unequal, 3.4 - 6 mm long and 1 - 2 mm broad, ascending, triangular-lanceolate, acute, slightly pruinose, corolla cylindrical-pentagonal, 9 – 10 mm long, 6 - 6.5 mm in diameter at base, orange to pink outside, yellow inside, petals united at the base, lanceolate, acute to aristate, ca 1.5 mm wide.
Flowering time : December - February.
