Distribution : Mexico (Puebla: North-eastern Sierra Madre del Sur, adjacent Trans-Mexican Volcainc Belt :Oaxaca, Puebla, Veracruz); 1170 - 2440 m.
Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :
Perennial herbs with much-branched, spreading or trailing, puberulent stems.
Leaves decussate, rarely subopposite or alternate, elliptic-oblong, elliptic or globular, rounded, terete, pubescent, lustrous, suffused with red, 7 - 14 x 4 - 8 mm, detaching very easily, flowering branches erect, ± 4 cm.
Inflorescences : Cymes usually with 3 branches, pedicels 0.6 - 2 mm.
Flowers 5- (rarely 4- or 6-) merous, sepals broadly sessile, unequal, lanceolate, oblong-Ianceolate or ovate, acute, pubescent, green, 2.4 - 5.2 x 1.3 - 2.2 mm, erect, petals free, sometimes basally slightly connate, elliptic-Ianceolate, acute or acurninate, mucronate, yellow, ± 7 mm, spreading, filaments yellow, anthers yellow.
