Description (by J. Thiede in IHSP, 2003) :
Shrublets; stems erect to decumbent-pendent, sometimes basally branched, to 30 cm.
Rosettes 10 – 15 cm in diameter, with 12 – 15 leaves.
Leaves obovate, apically rounded, 3 - 7 x 2,5 – 4 cm, 10 – 18 mm thick, first rose- coloured, later grey, glaucous pruinose, with 3 leaf traces.
Inflorescences 5 – 15 cm, ascending to curved downwards, thyrses with 7 – 65 flowers, axis zigzag, 4 – 11 cm, with 3 – 10 scorpioid branches with up to 6 flowers, pedicels 5 – 8 mm.
Flowers 5-merous, calyx 5 – 6 mm in diameter, sepals ovate, acute, almost equal, 2,5 – 4 x 1,5 – 3 mm, corolla 15 – 18 mm in diameter, petals 10 – 11 mm, pale whitish-yellow to pale yellow, tube campanulate, 3,5 – 4 x 5 – 6 mm, lobes triangular-lanceolate, acute, 6 – 7 x 3 – 3,5 mm, upper face with red cross-bands, apically almost entirely red, filaments pale yellow.
