Distribution : Mexico (probably Veracruz, between Orizaba and Boca del Monte).

 

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Perennial subshrubs to 1 m tall with flexuous branches.

 

Leaves alternate, spatulate-ovate, obtuse, to 45 mm long and wide.

 

Flowering branches erect or ascending, lateral.

 

Inflorescences dense cymes or panicles, with numerous short few-flowered branches.

 

Flowers 5-merous, subsessile, sepals basally free, shortly spurred, unequal, lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, obtuse, 1.5 – 2 mm, petals free to near the base, lanceolate, acute, yellowish, to 5 mm, styles rather long, fruits widely divergent, seeds ellipsoid, reticulate.
