Sedum

ERYTHROSPERMUM Hayata, 1913

Etymology : Gr. 'erythros' = red; and Gr. 'sperma' = seed; referring to the red seeds.

 

Distribution : Taiwan, Philippines.

 

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Fleshy annual herbs with slender stems, branching in the upper part, 8 – 12 cm tall.

 

Leaves obovate-spatulate, spatulate to linear-oblong, rounded or obtuse, obtuse or tapering at the base, 6 – 12 x 3 – 6 mm.

 

Flowers sessile, sepals basally free, unequal, petals basally connate, lanceolate, narrowed to the truncate base, yellow, 3 – 5 mm, widely spreading, anthers yellow, nectar scales flat, narrowly oblong, styles very short, fruit spreading, seeds elongate, oblong, red, (reticulate-)papillate.
