Distribution : Ethiopia (Bale Region).

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :

Glabrous rosulate perennial herbs producing very slender leafless stolons with small terminal rosettes.

Leaves alternate, sessile, ovoid to spatulate, terete to semiterete, ± 5 mm, obtuse, pale greyish-green.

Flowering branches to 5 cm.

Inflorescence cymose, with 1 or 2 monochasial bracts, bracts leaf-like, pedicels to 3.5 mm.

Flowers 4-merous, sepals broadly sessile, basally slightly connate, to 1 mm, petals oblong-ovate, 1.5 - 2.5 mm, subacute, white, filaments ± 16 mm, white, anthers dark red or brownish, styles 0.4 mm, nectar scales narrowly oblong-spatulate, tip slightly emarginate, fruits 1- or 2-seeded, prominently papillate, circumscissile and breaking off at the base, seeds obovoid, 1.3 mm, dark brown, costate.
