Distribution : Nepal, China (SW Sichuan, NW Yunnan); rocks on forested slopes, moist soil and sandy places, 2000 – 3700 m.

 

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Annual herbs with ascending or suberect to erect, smooth or sparsely papillate stems, branched throughout, 4 – 15 cm tall.

 

Leaves alternate, ± imbricate, appressed to suberect, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, linear-elliptic or narrowly oblong, obtuse to acute, broadly spurred, thick, smooth, rarely with mamillate margins, 4 – 11 x 0.8 – 2.5 mm.

 

Inflorescences compact cymes, bracts leaf-like, pedicels 1 – 3 mm.

 

Flowers 5-merous, sepals basally free, broadly spurred, linear to broadly lanceolate, obtuse, sometimes acute, ± fleshy, smooth, rarely with papillose margins, 3 – 6 x 0.9 – 1.8 mm, petals basally connate for up to 2 mm, obtuse to acute, very shortly mucronate, yellow, 6 – 8.5 mm, suberect, anthers deep yellow, styles 1 – 2 mm, fruit erect, seeds reticulate-papillose.
