Distribution : China (S Qinghai, W Sichuan); rocks in thickets, alpine grasslands, 400 – 4500 m.

 

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Annual or perennial herbs, 3 – 7 cm tall.

 

Leaves alternate, suboblong, obtuse, obtuse to sublobate at the base, 3 – 5 mm.

 

Flowering branches suberect, slender, simple or branched at the base.

 

Inflorescences few-flowered corymbs, bracts bradly oblanceolate, obtuse , ca 4 mm.

 

Flowers 5-merous, mostly long-pedicellate, sepals basally free, shortly spurred, oblong, obtuse, with distinct almost black veins when dry, ca 3 mm, petals slightly connate at the broad base, subovate, obtuse, distinctly green when dry, ca 5 mm, filaments greenish, anthers yellow, nectar scales spatulate with long linear base, obtuse, styles long, fruit errect, seed obovate, reticulate-papillose.
