Distribution : Nepal, E Tibet, China (C Gansu, SW Qinghai, W Sichuan, NW Yunnan); dry grassland on high mountain slopes, rocks, 2400 – 5400 m.

 

 

Description (by 't Hart & Bleij in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Annual or biennial herbs with simple stems or branched from the base, 1.5 – 3 cm tall.

 

Leaves broadly lanceolate to ovate, obtuse, 2 – 4 mm.

 

Inflorescence few-flowered, pedicels long.

 

Flowers 5-merous, with 5 stamens, sepals broadly sessile, semi-oblong to semi-ovate, obtuse, 2 – 2.5 mm, petals broadly oblong, obtuse, white or yellowish, 3 – 3.5 mm, nectar scales narrowly linear-subspatulate, obtuse, to 1.5 mm, styles short, fruit subdivergent, few-seeded, seed reticulate-papillose.
