Distribution : W USA (N Washington to N California: Rocky Mountains westward); open woods or aspen groves, man-made clearings, 400 - 3050 m.

 

 

Leaves linear, 4.5 - 13x longer than broad, subulate when dry, with persistent scarious base.

 

Inflorescences terminal many-flowered cymes, petals deep yellow.
