Aeonium x uriostei  Arango, Descripción de cuatro nuevas notoespecies del género Aeonium (Crassulaceae) en las islas Canarias y aportaciones corológicas y nomenclaturales al género. Vieraea 46: 129-133. 2019.

 

Etym. : Named for Jaime de Urioste Rodríguez.

Type : España, Islas Canarias, Tenerife, Municipio de Arafo, Roque de Ayesa, 2006 m., 25-02-2013, O. Arango.

Holotype : TFC 52.853 (ex cult.)

Isotype : TFMC/PV.

Distribution : Spain : Canary Islands (Tenerife, Municipio de Arafo).

 

Description :

Small perennial subshrub, habit and size intermediate between parents, 12 - 15 cm tall, with a central stem from which 6 - 8 verticillate bran­ches emerge at different levels.

Stems glandular-pubescent, bark blackish-brown, 1,5 cm in diameter.

Rosette cup-shape, dense, 7 - 9 cm in diameter.

Leaves obovate-spathulate, 4,0 - 4,5 x 2,0 - 2,2 cm and 1,0 - 2,0 mm thick, apex rounded, base cuneate, lamina dark green, pubescent, with green linear glands specially on the underside, margin hyaline with rounded cilia and glandular hairs.

Inflorescence a small rounded panícle, 5 - 6 cm tall and 6 - 8 cm in diameter, dense, pubescent, pedicels glandular-pubescent.

Flowers 16-merous, sepals linear-elongate, glandular-pubescent, corolla 1,8 cm in diameter, petals spreading, lanceolate, glabrous, gol­den yellow, filaments dark yellow, glabrous, carpels whites, ovaries glabrate, nectaries absent.
