BOTRYOIDES Hochstetter ex A.Richard, 1848

Distribution : West African Mountains (Cameroon), Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, South to Tanzania.

 

 

Description (according to IHSP 2003) :

 

Leaves 3 - 4 cm in diameter, orbicular, peltate, margin slightly crenate.

 

Inflorescences erect, to ± 30 cm tall, pedicels to 3 mm.

 

Flowers drooping, sepals oblong, ovate-triangular, to 2 mm, corolla urceolate, to 8 x 5 mm, petals fused below for most of their length, free tips only  ± 2 mm.

 

Similar to U. rupestris, but differing in its shorter pedicels, short and broad sepals and more globular, urceolate corolla.
