Type (syntype) : Korshinsky 25335+2537, Tadzhikistan
 

Subgenus Rhodiola, Section Chamaerhodiola

 

Etymology : for the occurrence in the Pamiro-Alaj Mts, C. Asia.

 

Distribution : Tadzhikistan, China (W Xinjiang); valley slopes, rock crevices, 2400 - 2800 m.
 

 

 

Description (by  H. Ohba in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Dioecious, to 25 cm tall.

 

Rhizomes thick, 1.5 - 3 cm in diameter.

 

Flowering stems numerous, 2 mm in diameter, glabrous.

 

Leaves remote, sessile, linear to lanceolate, 7 - 15 x 1.5 - 2 mm, glabrous, tip acuminate, widening towards the base, margin entire.

 

Inflorescences many-flowered, dense, 0.5 - 1 cm long, shortly pedunculate.

 

Flowers : Sepals lanceolate to linear, ± 2 mm,petals linear to lanceolate, ± 4 mm, pale yeIlow, stamens shorter than the petals, anthers yellow, nectar scales square, fruits ca 6 mm, seeds 2 mm, brown.

 

Flowering time : June to July.
