Distribution : Southern Turkey; on limestone, 1200 - 2200 m.

 

 

Description (according to U. Eggli in IHSP, 2003) :

 

Rosettes with a regularly to irregularly thickened taproots to several cm long, flattish, 3 - 6 cm in diameter, mostly with several short-stalked (<2 cm="" offsets="" p="">

 

Leaves oblong to broadly spatulate, 1.5 - 3 cm, bluish-glaucous, young farinose, always glabrous, apex rounded, margin distinctly denticulate or serrulate, whitish-horny.

 

Inflorescences lateral thyrses, drooping when young, to 25 cm, slender, often glandular-hairy and viscid.

 

Flowers 5-merous, 7 - 9 mm, glabrous or rarely glandular; petals pale pink, apically reflexed.

Cytology : 2n = 36

 

Sometimes intergrading with ssp. pestalozzae, but mostly easily distinguished on account of the bluish-glaucous flattish rosettes.
