Esther ‘에스더‘

Parents : Echeveria pulidonis and E. derenbergii

혈통 : E. 풀리도니스와 E. 데렌베르기

A Californian hybrid widely distributed under the name ‘Moon Goddess’. This name has to be dismissed because it belongs to a frilly hybrid, very different from this plant.

캘리포니아 지역에서 교배되어 널리 유통된 ‘문가디스’는  그 이름이 잘못 부여되었다. 왜냐하면 이 이름의 원래 식물체는 프릴형태의 교배종으로 이 식물과는 매우 다른 개체이기 때문이다.

A large number of these plants have been brought to South Korea where they are known now as E. ‘Moon Godness’.

이 식물의 많은 양이 ‘문가드니스’란 이름으로 대한민국으로 유입되었다.

In 1994 Jaewoo Kim (Sarang nursery, Republic of Korea) has made the crosses : E. derenbergii x E. pulidonis and E. pulidonis x E. derenbergii (known as ‘Jeongya Keum’ or ‘Californica Queen’). The resulting plants are similar to those imported from USA, but of course there are minor differences as he obviously has used different clones of the parents.

한편, 1994년에 김재우(사랑의농원, 대한민국)는 E. 데렌베르기 x E. 풀리도니스와 E. 풀리도니스 x E. 데렌베르기(‘정야금’ 또는 ‘칼리포르니카 퀸’이란 이름 유통되고 있는)를 교배했다. 이 교배종은 미국으로부터 수입된 교배종(‘문가디스’)과 유사하다. 물론 동일부모의 다른 클론이 사용되었음이 확실할 정도로 약간의 차이만 존재한다.

All plants with E. pulidonis and E. derenbergii as parents will now be united under the new name E. ‘Esther’.

부모가 E. 풀리도니스와 E. 데렌베르기인 모든 교배종은 이제부터 E. ’에스더’란 새 이름으로 통합된다.
